A guided meditation by Fletcher Lee Johnson.
Do you ever blow up balloons just to watch them fly through the air? It is one of my favorite things to do. Do you want to pretend you are blowing up a balloon with me? What color is your balloon? Mine is blue.
To blow up your balloon, inhale and take a big breath. Breathe in as much as you can to fill your lungs. Now, blow the air into your balloon. It feels like a hot air balloon filling up.
When you blow up your balloon, your cheeks will get big but they get smaller when you blow it out.
Hold on to your balloon because when you give it air it can blow out of your mouth. But, don’t want to hold too tight so that it blocks the air. We can keep practicing.
Breathe in and out, blowing it all into your balloon five times.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
With each breath, your balloon gets bigger and bigger. Your balloon should be as big as you can get it but not too much so that it pops.
Now that you have blown up your balloon, let it go. Let it fly through the air. It goes everywhere! All over the place! Watch it do loopty loops through the air.
As it flies through the room, it is pushing the air out and eventually gravity will bring it back down to the ground.
Now it is time to rest, just like your balloon. It will be there tomorrow for you to blow up and let it fly around the room again.
Fletcher loves blowing up balloons and watching them fly through the air. He thought it would make a good meditation since it you have to take deep breaths to fill them up.
